Together for the Common Good - CertAid and Five up join forces

With the aim of connecting those seeking help and those providing help and making skills easily available, certaid started looking for good tools for volunteering and became aware of Five up. It was quickly realised that the existing functions and the active community of Five up were an optimal basis for certaid. From the joint discussions it became clear that a cooperation between Five up and certaid is a win-win situation for both sides. We are excited about the partnership with certaid and look forward to working together!

Posting activities

Just determine the place, time and number of volunteers needed for new activities and send the information directly to the right people. Organise your helpers via practical group functions. Thanks to push notifications, your people are always up to date.

Discover new activities

As a volunteer, you can find exciting activities on “Five up” with private persons, associations or organisations – simply and spontaneously.

A new brand

Especially for projects which involve social interaction, the face of the project is important. An immediate positive identification and recognition must be possible. The phonetics, the sound of the name is a relevant aspect: if a name sounds impressive, the proposition gains in attractiveness. Tongue-twisters don’t make the list. When saying the suggestion “Five up” aloud, an open hand is raised. The movement symbolises: I’m a volunteer and I’m reporting for duty.

When drafting the figurative trademark, it quickly becomes clear that the hand had to be featured. Other, more abstract approaches are quickly rejected. Various style variations are tested out in a number of nuances and levels of abstraction. The simplification of the hand should become the Five up app icon in the end. So that the function of the app is quickly apparent, we came up with an informative claim alongside the name. The digital product was still in development and couldn’t be experienced at first. The figurative trademark and name alone don’t sufficiently explain to the interested observer exactly what the goals of this start-up are. The future services on offer are summed up in the phrase: “Connect your help”.

The app as a community platform

The app came together with an agile approach. This way, we were able to increase the transparency and flexibility in the teams and thus achieve faster implementation of the developed systems. The self-organised teams met up weekly and took an iterative approach.

Investment in the future of voluntary work

Apps with love was convinced about this tool and the community-based thinking from the very beginning. We decided to become co-partners in the Five up Community AG. We believe in the positive impact that can be triggered by this app and are delighted to be part of this movement. Volunteer work can now be organised simply and centrally.

Maxi is an initiator and creates enthusiasm not only on trial days, but also at team outings, hackathons, thirsty fridays, basketball games - in fact at any kind of event. Thanks to his DJ sets, even at office housewarmings no one sits still and the team stays motivated. Or as he would probably say: hyped.
