Together with Polyconsult, Apps with love successfully implemented smartphone and tablet native apps plus the web presence, for both iOS and Android platforms, in just four months. The launch was very successful and the app was top in its category in the Apple App Store rankings and in the Top 50 apps in Switzerland just two days after launch. In the Google Play Store, too, the app was in the Top 20 most popular apps in Switzerland after just a few days.
Connection with the Bluetooth thermometer
As well as cooking courses or preparation tips with videos and numerous recipes, a thermometer can be connected via Bluetooth and will aid the perfect preparation of meat. Users can order a Bluetooth meat thermometer directly from the app. The thermometer function is seamlessly integrated into the preparation instructions of the app and helps users monitor the perfect cooking times of their meat dishes even from their sofa.
Gesture control
And because clean hands are a rarity in the kitchen, the photo instructions can be leafed through using hand gestures without having to actually touch the screen. This project was the first time we had come up with and implemented this sort of app operation. It does require a bit of practice and sufficient distance from the device’s camera but, after a couple of tries, turning the pages of the recipe without touching the screen is no problem at all.
