What's user experience?

We understand user experience (UX) to be the entire experience that a person has when using a (digital) product, system or service. Good UX means that users intuitively understand how something works, feel comfortable while doing so, and are left with a lasting positive impression.

UX is therefore much more than "just" beautiful design. Rather, it's about how people feel when they interact with a digital product – about emotions and expectations. It's about a product's ability to fulfill real needs.

Naturally, the design of the user interface (UI) is also an important component of the UX. The user interface is the interface between human and machine.

How this interface works and is designed naturally has a significant impact on the user experience. The UI must be visually appealing in a way matching your brand while ensuring the tool’s functionality remains easy to use. UI design shapes and specifies the interface in detail – incorporating typography, colors, transitions, icons, and so on.

How does user experience differ from customer experience?

Customer experience (CX) refers to the entire experience that customers have with a brand. When your customers use one of your digital products, such as your app or website, the UX is part of the CX. Although CX encompasses more than just the UX, a good CX is only possible if the UX is also good.

Your customers will never be completely happy if they have a great experience offline and on the phone, only to end up frustrated when using your website or app. We offer all the necessary services related to UX, but thanks to our diverse experience, we can also provide valuable insights into the entire customer journey and experience as part of our consulting services.

UX is crucial to the success of a digital product

Excellent UX can make all the difference to the success of a digital product. It ensures that a target group doesn't just stay, but enjoys coming back. Strong customer loyalty, in turn, has a long-term positive impact on the success of a product or brand.

The objectives of digital products can vary greatly. However, a well thought-out user experience is always crucial for achieving goals such as:

  • Higher customer satisfaction

  • More usage and more conversions

  • Improved brand loyalty

  • Increased efficiency

What makes for "good" UX?

There's no universal formula for good UX. What a digital product specifically needs to offer in order to provide a "good" UX depends heavily on the type of product. While the primary goal of entertainment apps, for example, is to keep users engaged for as long as possible, efficiency is what counts for tool apps (such as banking or navigation apps): the faster users reach their goal, the better.

Our task is to identify these goals and create solutions that enable them to be achieved.

"Apps with love made it possible for an artistic project close to Zuhören Schweiz's heart to literally see the light of day – or rather to send out its sound waves. The interaction was characterized by agility, professionalism and a successful balance between creative aspirations and technical feasibility. The team skilfully picked up our balls and transformed them into an interactive sound universe – creating this platform together was fun!"

How we ensure the right UX

As experts in UX, we take a systematic approach to ensure that your digital product doesn't just work, but inspires. With the right mix of sound scientific methods, creativity and data analysis, we find out what users need and develop solutions that are tailored both to their needs and your requirements. This means we follow the principles of Human Centred Design (HCD): it's about aligning the needs of the target groups with the technical and business requirements and constraints.

Our multidisciplinary teams – consisting of UX designers, user research experts, requirements engineers and software developers – work closely together to develop creative, innovative and technically feasible solutions.

With the help of wireframes, prototypes and iterative testing, we ensure that we stay on track and always keep the needs of the users in focus.

Prototype on wireframe basis

We think holistically and cover the field of user experience as comprehensively as possible. To achieve this, we combine expertise from a wide range of disciplines.
